about

Recorded entirely at the Gaps throughout the East & West Macdonnell Ranges (Tjoritja) near Alice Springs (Mparntwe). Among the gaps where recording took place are significant sites for the Eastern Arrernte people at Simpsons (Rungutjirpa) Gap and Ormiston Gorge (Kwartatuma); as well as important sites for the Western Arrernte people including Jesse (Atherrke) and Emily (Anthwerrke) Gaps these latter two being associated with storylines for the Three Caterpillars: Yeperenye, Ntyarlke and Utnerrengatye, which are linked to the creation story for Alice Springs.
